When most people say, "My allergies are bothering me," they usually blame outside factors like freshly cut grass or blossoming goldenrod and ragweed. What they don't realize is that many allergy symptoms are caused by problems within their own home. The most common indoor allergens are dust, pet dander, pollen and mold, according to William Reisacher, MD, assistant professor of otorhinolaryngology at Weill Cornell Medical College.
To reduce bothersome indoor allergy symptoms, Dr. Reisacher recommends these 10 steps to "allergy-proof" your home:
