NEW YORK - Carol Albert, owner of Coney Island's world-renowned Astroland amusement park, took the ride of her life in the past year. And it's not over yet.
She boarded the emotional roller-coaster last November after selling the vintage attraction to a big-bucks developer. Albert braced for a long, difficult goodbye - until talks began to bring the park back for one more year. Hopes were raised, then dashed.
Now, with Astroland possibly wrapping up its last Labor Day weekend after 45 years on the boardwalk, Albert is hoping for a last-minute deal to resurrect its bumper cars and the 275-foot Astrotower ...
