HIGH POINT, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 1995--Earl E. Congdon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. (Nasdaq NM: ODFL), today announced financial results for the first quarter of 1995. Revenues for the quarter, which ended March 31, 1995, increased 5.0% to $57,744,000 from $54,985,000 for the first three months of 1994. Net income for the quarter was $1,768,000, up 77.5% compared with $996,000 for the same prior-year period. Earnings per share rose 75.0% for the most recent quarter to $0.21 from $0.12 for the first quarter last year. The operating ratio for the quarter improved to 94.4% from 96.6% for the same period in 1994.
