Maple Grove coach Craig Hansen enjoyed the best of both worlds Thursday night in the Crimson's season opener - a lesson learned and a victory.
Maple Grove was outplayed by visiting Coon Rapids but persevered for a 10-9 victory in double overtime.
Coon Rapids scored the game's first touchdown in the second overtime but missed the extra-point kick. The Crimson then won the game on Micah Johnson's 2-yard run and the deciding kick by Brent Eklund.
