Sep. 4--Beneath the surface of this week's annual report on the state's labor pool from the Department of Labor and Industry was some information about which sectors of the economy are gaining share in the labor pool and which are falling back.
L&I's Research and Analysis Bureau tracks 91 industry sectors in Montana. Of those, 38 are expanding and 53 are contracting. (Note that "contracting" in this case doesn't mean losing workers, but rather losing ground as a percent of the total jobs in the state that are in that industry.)
