Sep. 6--Ethanol plants in the Panhandle will begin producing more than 300 million gallons of fuel in a few months.
But don't plan to put more than a splash of it into your tank.
"It will primarily go to markets in Texas and California. We anticipate that it will go toward E-85 and E-10," said Bill Pentak, Panda Ethanol spokesman. "Every gallon of gasoline in the Dallas metroplex and Houston contains ethanol since these are air quality non-attainment areas."
E-85 fuel contains 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. E-10 has 10 percent of the biofuel.
