Sep. 7--How quickly a high school football game can get completely out of hand.
After taking the opening kickoff for a touchdown, Centennial High School gave up four touchdowns on seven plays and fell into a hole it couldn't climb out of against Pine Creek, losing the Pikes Peak League opener for both teams 42-14 Thursday night at Dutch Clark Stadium.
It was a blitz that spanned just 5:32 but when it was over, the Bulldogs trailed 28-7 and, more importantly, had the air sucked right out of them.
