Sep. 7--A federal bankruptcy judge Thursday ordered Akron Thermal to resume supplying steam to the Akron Civic Theatre for now, reversing the steam utility's shutoff nearly two weeks ago.
Judge Marilyn Shea-Stonum ordered that service be restored and that the Civic Theatre, also financially troubled, begin paying its regular monthly bill.
She issued a preliminary injunction, which maintains the status quo during Akron Thermal's bankruptcy proceeding, but the ruling is good news for the city of Akron and the theater.
The judge ruled that the Civic "has a fairly substantial likelihood of prevailing in its defense . . ...
