STRATFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 20, 1995--Researchers at the University of Washington Medical Center and scientists at DIANON Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: DIAN) have developed a second-generation prostate cancer test, PSA II, that may be able to better discriminate between prostate cancer and BPH, or benign prostatic hyperplasia.

A study describing this potential breakthrough development has been accepted for publication in Urology and will be presented at next week's 1995 Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA) in Las Vegas.
