Sep. 6--Once Mike Veon was ousted from the state House last year, Beaver County was probably fatally handicapped in its effort to host a harness racing track, county commissioners said Wednesday.

"A racetrack would have been a source of jobs and taxes for a long time," county Commissioner Charlie Camp said. "All of Beaver County lost today. It just appears we don't have much influence in Harrisburg."
