Sep. 6--A former West Chester Twp. resident has been named one of President Bush's top advisers.

On Tuesday, Bush named Barry Jackson as the new Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives and External Affairs. Jackson takes over duties of former White House strategist Karl Rove.

"Barry is a very personable, likable individual," Butler County GOP executive director Scott Owens said. "He will serve President Bush and the citizens of the United States very well."
