Sep. 7--Whole Foods Market Inc. plans to weed out two of its Wild Oats in Oregon.
The natural foods giant, which bought its crunchy competitor last month, announced plans Thursday to close two of its newly acquired outlets of Wild Oats Markets Inc. -- in Portland's Southwest Hillsdale neighborhood and at the Bridgeport Village mall in Tualatin.
Expected within the next two months, the closures will displace about 99 employees, who have been offered jobs at other Whole Foods stores in Oregon, said Ron Megahan, president of the Austin, Texas-based company's Northwest region. Next will come name changes for all remaining ...
