Sep. 7--MARSHALLTOWN -- With Alex Mark leading the way, Cedar Falls' boys' cross country squad placed second Thursday at the Marshalltown Bobcat Invitational.
Mark crossed the finish line in 16 minutes, 44 seconds -- just a fraction of a second behind first-place individual Nate Sletten of Marshalltown. Mark was closely followed by teammate Michael Streicher, who finished fifth with a time of 17:01.
The host Bobcats took home the team title, placing four runners in the top 10. Iowa Falls-Alden was the next-best boys finisher, placing 17th.
