South Indian films attract large number of people in Durban

Durban, Sept 7 (PTI) Classic South Indian films screened as part of a programme to celebrate 60 years of India's independence here have received an overwhelming response, attracting huge crowds.

The Indian Consul here had decided to screen South Indian movies as part of an overall programme to promote "Indian Experience" in the city.

"All three classic films: Moondram Pirai, Tannir and Mouna Ragam were attended by a record turnout of people, thus indicating interest among the populace for regional Indian cinema, particularly from South India", Indian Consul General Harsh Shringla said ...
