Sep. 8--Sister Margherita Marchione, a champion of the canonization of Pope Pius XII, will present her research in an area appearance.
She will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Walsh University's Barrette Center, 2020 Easton St. N.E., North Canton, and St. Raphael Center, 4365 Fulton Drive N.W., Canton, respectively.
Marchione, a professor emeritus at Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, received a papal award in 2003 for her work in defending Pope Pius against claims that his silence and anti-Semitism condemned many Jews to death in Nazi Germany.
