Sep. 8--Colorado Springs has hired a new project director for its proposed Southern Delivery System.
John Fredell, deputy city attorney for Colorado Springs Utilities, will move into the position of SDS project director, following a nationwide search that drew 70 applicants.
The new position recognizes the transition from development to implementation of the project, said Bruce McCormick, chief water services officer for Colorado Springs Utilities.
Fredell will concentrate on permits, final design and land acquisition, he added.
