Sep. 8--A new library task force on Friday called on the city and the county to provide an extra $300,000 in combined funding for "short-term budget needs."
The request and a list of task force members were included in a city news release distributed Friday. The group first met Thursday and includes representatives from education and the business sector and current library board members.
Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield has asked the group to look at ways to improve the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Bicentennial Library.
