Sep. 9--AUSTIN -- On a day when Texas A&M needed three overtimes to beat Fresno State just a week after the greatest upset in college football history, you could have argued that an upset in Austin on Saturday would have made this the year of the cockroach.
Maybe you remember what former UT coach Darrell Royal said about the Horned Frogs after they upset No. 1 Texas in 1961:
"They're like a cockroach. It's not what he eats or totes off, but what he falls into and messes up."
Lloyd Carr isn't half as clever as Royal was, on the field or off. But he probably feels about the same after what Appalachian State did to Michigan's national ...
