Sep. 9--A lot of press releases hit the e-mail inbox here at Internal Affairs, but we had to sit up when this one arrived last week from the Silicon Valley Leadership Group: "Attorney General James Brown, Mayor Chuck Reed at Projections 2008."
Had IA missed a funky coup d'etat in Sacramento? Was the Hardest Working Man in Show Business really going to break it down at the Leadership Group's climate change forum? And isn't James Brown, well, dead?
No, no and yes. Leadership Group honcho Carl Guardino quickly put out another press release assuring one and all that, no, "The Godfather of Soul will not be joining us at the Projections 2008 Conference. ...
