Sep. 9--Relieving a traffic bottleneck near the south end of heavily traveled Cedar Crest Boulevard would cost millions of dollars and may not happen for many years -- if ever.
But Lower Macungie has taken the first step, by asking the Lehigh Valley Transportation Study to put widening or replacing the road's bridge over Little Lehigh Creek on its 12-year plan.
The study is a transportation committee that determines top priority projects in Lehigh and Northampton counties.
The Cedar Crest/Lower Macungie Road intersection is at the north end of the bridge.
