Sep. 9--WILKES-BARRE -- Several members of the King's College community will leave for France this week to attend the beatification of Father Basil Anthony Moreau, founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross.
King's College was founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1946 when the bishop of the Diocese of Scranton invited the Notre Dame Congregation of Holy Cross to establish a school for local sons of coal miners who would become first-generation college students.
King's was asked to send representatives to the beatification to serve as delegates. Seven from King's will leave Monday for the event in Le Mans, France. The ...
