Celecoxib surface solid dispersions were prepared by various techniques using different ratios of drug and carriers. Infra-red spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry showed no significant change in solid state of celecoxib in the surface solid dispersions and physical mixtures of celecoxib and carriers. Surface solid dispersions exhibited superior dissolution profiles and improved antiinflammatory activity in rat paw oedema model.
