Sep. 10--TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. -- Brett Hull has jokingly referred to himself as "the smartest man in hockey," and he figures it's time to put his brain to use.
Hull, who has been promoted this season to "special advisor to the hockey operations department," said he and general manager Doug Armstrong still are in the process of trying to determine what that means.
"I'm here to help the organization any way I can," said Hull, who served as assistant to president Jim Lites last season.
