Sep. 10--I first met Lindy Saline when he arrived in La Crosse in 1984 as a retiree. We were working on committees for the Greater La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce. Very involved in his new community, he set out to give "retiree" a bad name in the Coulee Region.
Quite by accident, I ran across Lindy the other day. Now 83 1/2 , he hasn't lost his vim and vigor as he continues to stray from what is contrived to be the true meaning of "retiree."
