Sally Weare Edney is a member of ANA and NNA District #1. Sally received a BSN from the University of Oregon in 1971. While enrolled there, she read an article in AJN about the first nurse practitioners in Colorado and decided to pursue this as a career. At that time, the nurse practitioner program recommended public health experience prior to enrollment. Sally's first position after graduating from her BSN program was as a public health nurse in Boston. She received a PNP certificate from the University of Connecticut in 1973.
