Sep. 11--Don't wish being an independent filmmaker on anybody. Local boys Anthony Giacchino and David Dougherty started working on The Camden 28 11 years ago. It played the Philadelphia Film Festival just last year. Tonight at 10 on WHYY TV12, it gets to television, one of the crA[umlaut]me de la crA[umlaut]me of American documentaries that earn a place on PBS's P.O.V.
The groundbreaking show celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, struggling much harder today than it did in the '90s to get a little notice in an ocean of television where fame-seeking numskulls float effortlessly to the top.
