SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 1995--The merger of Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp. and HealthTrust Inc. was finalized Monday, creating a family of health-care providers that now includes 190,000 employees caring for patients in 317 hospitals and more than 100 outpatient surgery centers in 36 states, England and Switzerland.
For the California market, the merger has created a total of 12 Columbia/HCA hospitals in the state.
