Sep. 11--Plans to build an indoor theme park along I-20 in southern DeKalb County may be back on track.
The developers say financial problems they ran into last fall that threatened to derail the project have been taken care of, and that the $675 million Grand Empire Palace and Resort is going forward.
The proposed complex would include a water park, amusement park, hotel conference center, a 6,500-seat performing arts center, restaurants and shops to be built on a 35-acre tract not far from the Mall at Stonecrest in the booming I-20 east corridor.
