Sep. 12--The Phillies had to pitch Adam Eaton again sooner or later and, having opted for later, it turned out that last night's game was still a little too soon.
Eaton, who has the highest earned run average in the major leagues among regular starters, originally was scheduled to take his turn in the rotation over the weekend, but the Phils pushed him back, making room for several others, including at least one who had never been heard of. Hard to blame them.
It wasn't that Eaton pitched terribly against the Rockies last night when finally allowed to take the ball; he made enough mistakes to lose the game. He gave up three ...
