Sep. 12--CLAYTON -- A collision and spill of potentially toxic swimming pool chemicals this morning has shut down Marsh Creek Road and other nearby roadways, the California Highway Patrol said.
A service truck operated by Tracy-based Professional Pool Service was eastbound on Marsh Creek Road around 9:35 a.m. when the driver lost control for an unknown reason, drove down an embankment and crashed into a tree, said Officer Scott Yox.
Authorities shut down the road so crews can clean up pool-cleaning chemicals chlorine and muriatic acid, which can evaporate into the air or be highly corrosive in a concentrated form.
