Sep. 13--You've seen its name on a map, surely driven past its exit on the Bay Bridge, and maybe even thought about visiting it on occasion.

But if you're like many Bay Area residents, you've likely never actually stepped foot on Treasure Island, the manmade island created in 1939 for the Golden Gate International Exposition.

That makes sense, given that it's been decades (nearly seven, to be more exact) since there was a good reason for large crowds to journey out to the island. That all changes this weekend.
