Sep. 13--COOK COUNTY -- Six new cases of the West Nile virus have been confirmed in suburban Cook County, pushing the number of cases of the mosquito-borne disease for the county to 14, officials said Wednesday.
The cases, confirmed this week, included two women -- one, 45, from Bartlett; the other, 40, from Glenview. The male victims included a 65-year-old from Prospect Heights; a 52-year-old from Harwood Heights, a 54-year-old from Hinsdale and a 74-year-old from Dolton.
All are recovering, said Kitty Loewy, a spokeswoman for the Cook County Department of Public Health.
