Sep. 13--Lenoir County elections officials are working to fill all precinct judge slots by the end of the week.
The list of judges, who are posted in each of the county's 22 voting precincts to ensure polling places run smoothly, is usually finalized in late August, said Elections Director Dana King.
That period has been extended this year because so many long-serving judges will not re-turn for November's municipal elections. King said she wants to have her list complete by Friday and present it to the county Elections Board next Monday.
