Sep. 13--EGLIN AFB -- When an idea becomes ingrained in military culture it gets an acronym.
"GWOT" is the global war on terrorism. More and more, troops also use "ILO" for "in lieu of," which means members of one service performing jobs normally done by another.
Sixteen airmen from the 96th Logistics Readiness Squadron Vehicle Operations Flight at Eglin Air Force Base will deploy in coming weeks for combat skills training in Texas and then head to Kuwait. There, the airmen will lead supply convoy missions throughout Iraq in support of Army operations.
