Syracuse's Point of Contact gallery is emerging as a major showcase for Latin American artists, authors and filmmakers.
Since it debuted in 2005 in a storefront on East Genesee Street, the gallery's display of Latin American artists has included artwork by Argentinian artists Perez Celis and Liliana Porter and Ana Tiscornia of Uruguay.
On Sept. 25, Point of Contact will host a reception for Argentinian poet and author Alicia Dujovne Ortiz whose writings include a biography of Eva Peron, Argentina's former first lady.
