MEQUON -- The Board of Regents for Concordia University Wisconsin has approved plans to start a pharmacy school.

The plan approved by the suburban Milwaukee school's board Friday calls for a dean to be hired during the next few months and for the first students to be accepted for the 2009-10 academic year.

"It's a big step," university President Patrick Ferry said.

"The hiring of the dean is a clear indication of the university's plan to move forward on this. But there still are steps to be taken."
