Sep. 14--NORWALK -- Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus have been found in Rowayton, according to public health officials.
"It's not unexpected," said Tim Callahan, the city's director of public health. "We've been finding infected mosquitoes all around us."
Infected mosquitoes have been detected this summer in 12 municipalities throughout the state, including Greenwich, Stamford and Westport. Four human cases of the virus, in Danbury, Hartford, New London and Woodbridge, have been reported to the state Department of Public Health.
