Sep. 14--Nobody loves Lynda Carter's voice as much as Lynda Carter, which may be part of the problem.
The former star of the ancient TV series "Wonder Woman" owns an often lovely sounding instrument and revels in its better features. She lingers lovingly over dusky low notes; she belts climactic pitches into the next ZIP code.
But she rarely knows what do with the repertoire she has chosen to sing, frequently resorting to watered-down versions of other artists' classic recordings.
So "An Intimate Evening with Lynda Carter," running through Sunday at the Apollo Theater, makes for a most curious musical encounter. ...
