Sep. 14--Arguments about whether or not a criminal committed the crime are dramatic.
But the debate over whether or not society prepared the crime is real drama.
This week's arrest of six white suspects in the kidnapping and brutal torture of a black woman in Logan County is such a crime.
Racist crimes, as brutal as this one, are nothing new to our nation or our state. But this incident is all the more shocking because it feeds the worst stereotypes that have plagued us for decades.
