Sep. 14--A permit issued by the state Department of Environmental Protection to conduct a dredging operation on Harveys Lake was revoked by the state Environmental Hearing Board last week.
Citizens for Pennsylvania's Future (PennFuture), an environmental watchdog organization based in Harrisburg, filed a motion for summary judgment with the hearing board contending that DEP improperly granted a water obstruction and encroachment permit to Marina Commons at Harveys Lake, LLC. The motion stated the permit wasn't properly issued because the department failed to provide for the protection of an endangered plant at the 1.38-acre site.
