Article: Old and new challenges facing USDA.(WASHINGTON)(United States. Department of Agriculture)

In 2006, the USDA Office of Inspector General reported six major challenges it felt were the most significant management issues facing USDA. This year, one of the challenges was removed as were specific issues identified under three other challenges in recognition of the progress made or actions taken by the agencies. However, a few new challenges were added. The following are some of the challenges and key elements facing the USDA from last year as well as the new challenges added in 2007:
