Sep. 14--ELON -- Elon University is expecting a record crowd when Appalachian State visits for a football game later this month.
Elon ticket manager Louis Clyburn said the Sept. 29 should attract the largest home crowd in the history of Rhodes Stadium, which opened in 2001. The university is expecting more than 11,000 spectators, he said. Only lawn seating tickets, which are basically on the side knolls off the end zones, for $15 apiece are available for the Southern Conference game.
