Sep. 14--CHULA VISTA, Calif. -- A San Diego Chargers spokesman said Thursday that either of two sites in Chula Vista would work well as a home for a new 72,000-seat football stadium, but he refused to rule out Oceanside.

The announcement produced cheers among Chula Vista leadership but little more than yawns on the Oceanside City Council, which has been openly ambivalent about the Chargers.
