Stafford, N.J., resident opens Mexican grocery store in Berkeley.

Sep. 14--Marcelo Leal may live in Stafford, but when it came time to open St. Maria Juquila, a Mexican grocery store, he chose to do it in Berkeley.

Leal, a 46-year-old Cedar Run resident, started St. Maria Juquila in the Bayville section rather than in his hometown because there already were Latino businesses there as well as in the towns between Stafford and Berkeley, and also because he wanted to find his own niche of customers, said his 18-year-old son, also named Marcelo.
