Sep. 15--The changes within the NASCAR Busch Series during the past few years have finally forced the hand of Clarence Brewer Jr., owner of Central City-based Brewco Motorsports Inc.
Faced with increasing costs to stay competitive, and trouble attracting engineering expertise, Brewer has sold a majority stake in Brewco Motorsports' multicar operation to Nashville businessman and former Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway co-owner Gary Baker.
Brewer maintains a minority interest in the team he formed in 1995. But he expects the racing operation will move to Nashville within the next year.
