Salvador Espriu, els anys d'aprenentatge (Salvador Espriu: The Years of Initiation) is the culmination of Rosa M. Delor i Muns's steadfast dedication to the study of Espriu's first period of literary production. It contains an excellent prologue by Raffaele Pinto.
The volume is divided into three parts and comprises eleven chapters. Beginning with his youthful poems, it continues through the vibrant poetic novels El doctor Rip (1931) and Laia (1932), which are devoid of the noucentista literary conventions prevalent during that era, then terminates with the play Antigona (1939) and the historical work Tiempos antiguos, temps moderns (Old Times, New Times; 1943).
