SPENCER - A Park Street man whose smoking fire pit has drawn the ire of neighbors will be back barbecuing Monday night, with the town's fire chief and a nearby resident as guests.
William Pierce, who has been forbidden since late last month from using the outdoor fire pit he bought at Target, told neighbors last night that he has never burned trash in the device, and he wondered why those living nearby didn't walk to his house and complain if the smoke was too much.
