Sep. 16--NORWALK -- If there was ever doubt that the Norwalk High School Marching Bears would recover from the August fire that leveled their field house, it was laid to rest last night at the first band competition of the season.
Norwalk High School won its division with its own uniforms, instruments and equipment at the event, held at Brien McMahon High School.
The Aug. 16 fire destroyed 50 pairs of uniform pants, 60 pairs of shoes, 100 music stands, several Sousaphones, two new electric pianos, a marimba, band props, folding tables, ice machines and the field house.
