INTRODUCTION
The demand for mobile communication services is increasing at a rapid pace throughout the globe. The total number of subscribers worldwide is projected to increase from 283 million in 2002 to approximately 1.2 billion in 2007. In addition, multimedia traffic is also projected to increase 40 percent every year, especially in Asia.
