NEW YORK -- The Donna Karan Co.'s joint venture with Hotel Properties Ltd., a billion dollar Singapore-based holding company, will be a big boost to the designer firm, both with the considerable injection of cash and with new opportunities for licensing income, according to observers in the financial community.
As reported, Karan struck a deal this week with Hotel Properties for a major retail and distribution push in key Asian markets. Hotel Properties will initially invest $21 million in Donna Karan Japan, a subsidiary of The Donna Karan Co., with "significant" future investments.
